President Hopkins Voted as one of Greenville Business Magazine’s 50 Most Influential
Converse University President Boone J. Hopkins has been recognized as one of Greenville Business Magazine’s 50 most influential people of 2024.
The selection of individuals from the regions of the Upstate, Midlands, Lowcountry, and the Grand Strand, is a result of staff research and community nominations. Winners are considered the most influential leaders, pioneers, innovators, artists, and advocates for change in South Carolina.
Boone J. Hopkins, Ph.D., is the twelfth president of Converse University Board of Trustees. Dr. Hopkins has been a dedicated member of the Converse community since 2012.
Dr. Hopkins is leading Converse in its pursuit of becoming a thriving institution that champions its people, places, and programs and serves as a driving economic force in the region.
Along with his leadership work for Converse, Dr. Hopkins brings his love of empowering others and impacting his community for good through his services as the Chair of the South Carolina Tuition Grants Commission, as a member of the Ten at the Top Board to support economic development in the Upstate, and as a member of the Integrated Planning Advisory Group and the Movement 2030 Advisory Board for the Spartanburg Academic Movement.
He was recently honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Spartanburg. Dr. Hopkins also served on the Chapman Center Board from 2017-2023 and served as the Chair of their General Operating Support Grants Committee from 2021-2023.
